Ridge 3 Scaffolding

Heavy & complex environments

Industrial and access scaffolding

Access for plant, energy, water and manufacturing sites — where the environment is unforgiving and the shutdown window is fixed.

Industrial access is a different discipline from construction scaffolding. The structures are often more complex, the environment is live, the permits are stricter and the window is measured in days. Miss it and the client isn't losing a few days of programme — they're losing production.

Ridge 3 takes on industrial access work with the planning that demands: pre-shutdown surveys, agreed erection sequences, gangs sized to hit the window, and design produced ahead of time rather than worked out on the day.

  • Shutdown and turnaround work planned around a fixed window, with the gang sized to hit it.
  • Birdcage and internal access for tank interiors, vessel access, high-level plant and large internal volumes.
  • Suspended and hanging scaffolds where there's nothing to build up from — always fully designed.
  • Confined and restricted access planned properly, with the sequence agreed before anyone mobilises.
  • Permit-to-work discipline. We work inside your system — hot work, confined space, isolation, whatever the site requires.
  • Inspection and documentation to a standard that survives client audit, because on industrial sites it will be audited.

What's included

Shutdown planning

Pre-shutdown survey, agreed erection and dismantle sequence, and the labour to hit a fixed window rather than hope.

Engineered solutions

Birdcage, suspended, cantilevered and bridged structures fully designed with calculations before mobilisation.

Permit systems

Confined space, hot work, isolation and lock-off — we work within your procedures, not around them.

Site-specific RAMS

Risk assessments written for the actual environment, not a template with the site name changed.

Inspection records

Documented inspections at statutory intervals, presented in a format that stands up to client and regulator audit.

Experienced gangs

Operatives used to working in live industrial environments alongside other trades and process operations.

FAQs

Industrial and access scaffolding — your questions

Can you work during a live production shutdown?

Yes — that's a significant part of what industrial access is. The critical thing is planning: we want the survey done and the sequence agreed well before the window opens, so day one is erecting rather than working out where to start.

Do your operatives hold industry-specific safety cards?

Requirements vary by sector and by client. Tell us what the site demands at enquiry stage and we'll confirm in writing what our operatives hold and what, if anything, we'd need to arrange before mobilisation. We'd rather tell you honestly than turn up and get refused entry.

Can you provide access inside tanks and vessels?

Yes — birdcage and internal access scaffolds for tank and vessel interiors are standard industrial work. Where it's a confined space, it's planned and permitted as one, with the rescue arrangements agreed before entry.

How do you handle out-of-hours and night work?

Routinely. Shutdown windows rarely respect office hours. Night and weekend working is priced transparently at quotation stage rather than appearing as a surprise uplift later.

What about scaffolding near live electrical plant?

It's planned around the isolation. We won't erect near live apparatus without the appropriate isolations, permits and clearances in place — and we'll push back if we're asked to. That's not us being difficult, that's us not killing anyone.
